Internship Program Duration​
12-15 weeks (interns must be able to commit to 12 weeks of work)
Time Commitment
15-25 hours/week minimum (Summer Internships)
10-20 hours/week minimum (Spring & Fall Internships)
Internship Status
This is an unpaid internship, but AWLCI happily provides support in administrative and facilitative capacities to students who seek to use this internship for college credit or apply for grant/scholarship funding.
​ESOL Teaching & Curriculum Development Internship
​
Our ESOL/Adult Literacy Teaching and Curriculum Development Internship provides interns with a unique opportunity to work directly with the students in our ESOL courses and to assist in creating lesson plans for a variety of English levels. Interns will both aid in teaching our ESOL classes and help to develop our curriculum. Interns will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks related to our language classes. Our program will provide interns with extensive training and opportunities to develop teaching and leadership skills.

Medical Spanish Teaching and Curriculum Development Internship
Internship opportunities for individuals to teach Spanish in a medical context to health care professionals and design lesson plans for our immersive Medical Spanish classes through our Medical Spanish Teaching and Curriculum Development Internship. Interns will work with our team to create lesson plans for a variety of Spanish levels and receive training to tutor and teach students. This program will provide interns with extensive training and opportunities to develop teaching and leadership skills. Interns will also be responsible for administrative tasks related to our medical Spanish programs.

ASL Teaching and Curriculum Development Internship
AES World Languages and Cultures Institute [AWLCI] is seeking remote American Sign Language Teaching and Curriculum Development Interns to work on a developing American Sign Language education program for adults. The intern would receive support and training throughout the internship, and work under experienced language instructors and nonprofit professionals. This is an ideal position for individuals interested in a career in education, language teaching, or nonprofit program development.
​
The American Sign Language Teaching and Curriculum Development Intern would be responsible for both helping to develop activities and materials for the course, and helping plan and launch outreach efforts. The intern will gain significant experience in curriculum development and teaching techniques as well as program development. There is opportunity to engage in other administrative projects of interest including grant writing and development, communications, and website development.

Nonprofit Administration Internship
​Our Nonprofit Administration Internship provides interns with a unique opportunity to assist in the administration of a nonprofit organization. Potential responsibilities include grant writing, communicating with partner organizations and our students, recruiting instructors, fundraising, and coordinating programs with other organizations. If interested, additional opportunities in teaching and curriculum development are also available. Our program will provide interns with extensive training and opportunities to develop teaching and leadership skills.​

Nonprofit Social Media and Communications Internship

Our Nonprofit Social Media and Communications Internship provides interns with a unique opportunity to help spearhead a new and evolving social media campaign of a nonprofit organization. Some potential responsibilities will include: helping develop and establish the organization’s social media presence; researching and writing social media copy; supporting website, SEO, and advertising development; collaborating with program staff, instructors, and partners to develop social media and communications content. If interested, additional opportunities in administration, teaching and curriculum development are also available. Our program will provide interns with extensive training and opportunities to develop teaching and leadership skills.
